Have your say on Wheatbelt food problems and solutions – Stakeholder Focus Group

April 28, 2023 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm UTC+8

Free
Food Action Groups project

Do you work in policy, food supply or community food sectors in the Wheatbelt region?  Then the Food Action Groups Project wants to hear from you.

Ensuring everyone has access to healthy, affordable, quality food is essential for good health. It’s known as ‘food security’, which unfortunately can be challenging for many people to achieve, particularly for those in regional areas.

Other countries have improved food security issues by implementing Food Action Groups, an approach Edith Cowan University (ECU) hopes to explore in regional Western Australia. The new ‘Food Action Groups’ project aims to bring people together to generate actionable solutions for food, across the pathway from farm to mouth.

The second of the statewide consultations to seek interest and advice about the approach will be held this month in Narrogin.  Join a stakeholder focus group to view your thoughts on food problems within the Wheatbelt and discuss a possible mechanism for improving them.

If you would like more information, or to RSVP, please email Jess Doe, at j.doe@ecu.edu.au
